James C. White, RLA, CLARB, ASLA, received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Mississippi State University in May 1996. While at Mississippi State, James focused his study on regenerative and sustainable design as well as alternative energy and utility sources. James acquired his Professional Landscape Architect registration in 1999 with the Georgia Board of Landscape Architects. James is also a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
James participated in a salt marsh planning and development project for the Gulf Coast of Mississippi and a master-planning project for an abused children's home in Starkville, Mississippi. Upon graduation, he worked as the environmental designer for the design/build firms, Design South, Inc. and Scott & Associates, Inc., in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. James was responsible for developing landscape and irrigation plans, preparing bids and proposals, and the installation of landscape and irrigation systems at residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
James joined Breedlove Land Planning, Inc. in December 1997 as an environmental designer. For a period in 1999, James worked for Altamira Design and Common Sense, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. While at Altamira, he worked on a Veterans Memorial Master Plan and Industrial Park Construction Documents in Auburn, Alabama. Upon returning to Breedlove Land Planning, Inc., he was promoted to Project Manager. In May 2002, James became an Owner and Principal of Breedlove Land Planning, Inc and heads our Production efforts.
Some of the projects James has worked on include Ocee Elementary School and Northview High School in Fulton County, Norcross High School and Lilburn Alliance Church in Gwinnett County, Sandy Ridge Park, Heritage Park, and J.P. Moseley Park in Henry County and numerous other schools and recreational areas in the metro Atlanta region.
James’ responsibilities include business development, project planning, site design, site engineering, contract administration, project and consultant coordination, preliminary designs, and the preparation of final construction documents for various types of projects.
