J. Matthew Tanner, EIT, graduated from the University of Georgia in May of 2000 with a degree in Agricultural Engineering with an emphasis on structural systems and natural resource management. He successfully completed the fundamentals of engineering exam in the spring of 2000, and is currently an Engineer-in-Training in the state of Georgia. Matthew is a member of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Ecological Engineering Society.
In college, Matthew was presented with the Driftmier Engineering Faculty Award, which goes to the department’s overall most outstanding senior. He also served on the local, state, and national levels, including serving as President of the Georgia Student Chapter of The American Society of Agricultural Engineers.
Matthew began his career as a Project Designer with Breedlove Land Planning, Inc. in May of 2000. Since joining the Breedlove team, his engineering background has accommodated a focused interest in site drainage, water quality, and storm water detention design. Matthew’s project experience includes preliminary site design, construction documents, hydrology studies, permitting, construction administration, and site inspections for recreational, institutional and commercial facilities.
Some of the projects that Matthew has contributed to include Summitt Family YMCA in Coweta County for Metro Atlanta YMCA, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources in Walton County, Freemanville High School in Fulton County, North Gwinnett High School’s parking and paving additions.
